Background
After earning a journalism degree, Kate worked 8 years as copywriter, senior writer and corporate
communications manager for a large marketing firm serving Fortune 500 clients. She later managed creative services
at a mid-size publisher, and in 2000 promoted herself to independent writer.
Kate’s a member of Business Marketing Association and Working Writers of Wisconsin.
“I” vs. “We”
Independent writers often refer to themselves as “we” and “us.” You look like a smart person, so you probably
know this is a marketing ploy to make one person sound like a big company. What about Kate? She usually works
independently in her office, but sometimes checks the wireless control room (basement), gets java in the break
room (kitchen), heads to the mail room (end of driveway), or supervises her office assistant (wiener dog).
In reality, Kate teams well with most anyone, but is in fact one talented person with great connections and the writing skills to give you excellent results at a decent price. You can contact her at corporate headquarters.
Other Marketing Services
Kate focuses on writing and editing. But if you need design, photography, web development,
strategic planning or other marketing services, Kate can refer you to her pre-qualified network of
reputable resources. Just contact her.
